Cutting Nylon and Nonwoven Fabric


Today’s sample was nylon and nonwoven fabric cut with FABOOL Laser Mini and FABOOL Laser CO2.

Machine: FABOOL Laser CO2

Cut edge was melted and crimping was uneven.

At lower speed, the cutout melted even more and there was burn marks on the edge.

It was cut on two layers, but the top layer melted more than the bottom layer.

The fabrics stick together (crimp) better when processed at higher laser output, but it melts more.

Machine: FABOOL Laser Mini 3.5w

nylon 100F 100% 1 2 min 19 sec


First trial: unable to cut due to the laser beam not penetrating on white surface.
Second trial: placed black acrylic sheet beneath nylon and was able to cut.

Similar to nylon, it required black acrylic sheet beneath the fabric to be cut, however some parts were still not cut.
