Cutting Shell Sheets with FABOOL Laser Mini

See the result of cutting shell sheets!

Material: Shell sheet (shell of abalone)

Thickness: 0.3mm

Machine:FABOOL Laser Mini 1.6W, 3.5W

Processing Data

Data can be downloaded from here.

1. FABOOL Laser Mini 1.6W

Processing parameter
Shell sheet (with coating sheet)

  • Speed: 100F
  • Power: 100%
  • Repeat: 2 times

Processing time: 4’24”

Can be cut with 2 repeats or more.

Shell sheet (colored with black marker)

  • Speed: 100F
  • Power: 100%
  • Repeat: 3

Processing time: 6’40”

We did 3 repeats but it seems it was already cut at the 2nd round. However, the cut edge was burnt, turned white, and the characters are all connected by getting cracks at the cutting edge.

Shell sheet (coating sheet and black marker)

  • Speed: 100F
  • Power: 100%
  • Repeat: 2

Processing time: 4’24”

Similar to the result right above, it was burnt, the cutting edge turned white, and some parts of the characters are connected due to cracks.

2. FABOOL Laser Mini 3.5W

Processing Parameter
Shell sheet (with coating sheet)

  • Speed: 100F
  • Power: 100%

Processing time: 2’23”

With higher laser power, 3.5W model can process faster than the 1.6W model.

Shell sheet (black marker)

  • Speed: 100F
  • Power: 100%

Processing time: 2’23”

The result was similar to the ones done with the 1.6W model.

Shell sheet (coating sheet and marker)

  • Speed: 100F
  • Power: 100%

Processing time: 2’23”

This was also similar to the one from 1.6W model. You cannot really distinguish each character.
